    There is a KB article for how to convert back to a packet based router.

    I would guess Junipers stand on it would be the J series are designed for "branch offices", so if you want pure packet routing stick with the M series and higher.

    Ah right, hadn't seen that. Yes, I am guessing for smaller providers (traffic wise), they are seeing a lot of J-Series make it in to pure routing roles, rather than branch office use.

    perhaps thats why they want to go down this route, to get their M series revenues back up... main issue is that v6 is not supported in flow mode

    To an extent on the M it is their own fault, when they go adding daft charges for enabling IPv6 etc. (Although I'm sure many people don't actually pay them, but it does put people off, if they aren't needing Gbit/s)

    JTAC never asked us for a v6 license on v6 related tickets... I also find no mention of separate v6 charging for M series in the documentation
