Thread: What Router?

    What Router?

    All,

At the office here we use a Linksys WAG54G 4 port switch and WIFI router with BB and it seems to provide the right level of security and speed. Built in Firewall and MAC addressing plus encrypted transmission seem to do the trick.

Anyone got a prefered Wifi Switch?

We have a D-link DI-614+ wifi router and put a larger gain antenna on it with D-link cards in the machines and it runs fine, it had some teething issues when first installing it (it managed to wipe its settings twice) though. It has quite a few tools for MAC addressing (stuff like having a white list for mac addresses, and then denying anything else that tries to connect, or getting the DHCP to reserve IP's for certain Mac addresses), and it has a firewall, but personally i see the firewall as a bit of a gimmick.
