Health Issues Of Wireless

Our wireless router is on pretty much 24-7 at home, and whilst it is always at least a metre away from any human, what are the implications of the constant high-frequency radio broadcastings? Is it acting like a microwave?

I'm slightly concerned about being cooked slowly alive by my Internet Connection...

This is what's raised this issue, by a few people who seem to all have shooting pains in their legs (including myself) after being in the room with the router for a while...

Given the amount of microwaves in the air now everywhere you go humans will probably develop a new imune system and in 5 generations or so be able to sit in a microwave oven for 10 minutes without even getting crispy.

Well consider this, the same frequency used for WiFi transmissions is also used by baby monitors, hospital cardiac monitors and CB radio in trucks, etc.

Also given the regular amounts of EM exposure we get from other areas of the spectrum, UV <-> IR included, I doubt it'll produce that much by way of medical conditions.

Agreed.

Also dont assume that just because its microwave, its dangerous. w/lan routers for home have such crap ranges as they are low powered.

Industrial microwaves (which are significantly higher powered than a netgear wlan ), are a different story however... stand infront of a TV broadcast uplink and at best case you'll go sterile and at worst case you'll go blind, and if you try and climb up a tx tower (like the BBC tower at crystal palace), you'll be dead before you get to the top.

Hello James,

I suggest you either use a handfree or stop using mobile phone as I think mobile phone gives out more microwave than wireless plus you put it next to your head as well.

So in theory we are all being cooked inside out slowly.. ....

As long as there are water in human, human will never get imune by microwaves.
As microwaves vibrate the water and cause them to heat up by their self and hence cooking you inside out..

*sigh* - reopening old threads...

Sam, there is a little more to it than vibrating water inside you to cook you

Agitation of the Hydrogen atoms which with break the H-O bonds, releasing H2 and O2. Thereby denaturing the cell membranes causing cellular decay and systemic failure. If the denaturation occurs in certain areas of the body it will disrupt all (brain/spinal column) operations. You may be lucky and only affect one centre or function.

Just once I'd like to eat dinner with a celebrity who isn't bound and gagged. Is that too much to ask?
