Love my playing with my Wii. There are far more games out there for it than just the sports ones.

To be honest, the only time you can really get away with claiming it's good for exercise is as a last resort when you're trying to justify buying it to your non-gamer girlfriend. I guess that maybe it's better than sitting around all day, but if you're looking to introduce some exercise into a sedentary lifestyle, you're probably better off walking up and down the stairs a couple of times. An hour of Wii Sports is a lot of fun, but certainly doesn't compare to an hour in the gym.

The system really has a lot of potential, but its popularity has caught a lot of developers by surprise, so a lot of the games that are out at the moment are quick and nasty party games. Zelda and Rayman are keeping me occupied at the moment, but if you're not convinced by what's on the shelves, give it another 6 months and see what's waiting for a Christmas release. Things are probably going to take a while to really get going, but the system certainly seems to have the potential to be both a good short- and long-term purchase.

I'm also a bit disappointed with the quality of some of the graphics, but it's still early days; a lot of the games are ports from other consoles, even Zelda. Some of the games coming out later this year look very promising though, like the new Resident Evil and Mario Galaxy - I haven't given up yet

girls were the 2nd best discovery of my teenage years, the first being beer.

Wii still gets played with on a daily basis in our house, but the PS2 is also still well used. It really depends on what mood people are in as to what and how they want to play. Wii for the game play or PS2 for the games.
