Thread: Large transit requirement... but only at (UK) night

We have had a client approach us regarding (approx) half a rack of servers that are used for offsite backup purposes - mainly from remote desktop machines rather than local data centre hosted servers. Theres potentially a fairly large transit requirement - perhaps 500Mbit, but this will only happen overnight (midnight to 6am) as this is when the remote machines are set to communicate.

Is there any company that might be willing to offer deep discounts on this sort of transit as it may well be 'surplus' capacity at this time of night. The machines can be (re) colocated at a particular data centre if required.

Generally speaking (hence this category) does such a thing exist? Specifically (if no one minds me asking here to avoid duplication) can anyone provide?

Is this inbound or outbound traffic mainly?

95% inbound to the servers, theres a general website load, but thats (relatively) small.
