    Looking to run Parallels Sitebuilder

    Hello.

This is my first post as I only came across this forum and looks like someone here may be able to help me.

I am looking for a 100user license initially for Parallels Sitebuilder which I assume would have to run on a VPS. In terms of the spec I dont really know other than what Parallels recommend. Its only going to have sporadic usage as clients change the sites. This wouldnt be used to host any sites or any other applications. Its just to install and run the sitebuilder application from. I'm interested in a fully managed service. All we want to do is use the sitebuilder application and have no other worries.

Since I'm based in Ireland the only way to get the built websites into Google.ie is to use a .ie domain or to have the website hosted in Ireland. I assume google determines this by the IP address of the DNS so based on this it means I need to host in Ireland (unless anyone can think of a work around)

So with the sitebuilder setup I'd use the Irish IP as publishing location. My plan is to use WHM/Cpanel as the hosting solution as I dont like Plesk but that shouldn't matter as Sitebuilder will publish to 3rd party accounts so long as a min set of requirements are met.

    Thanks
    Ian

It's based on the IP of the netblock, not of the nameservers - you can have the dns in the ukraine and botswana, as long as the resolved IP has country of IE

I can recommend blacknight.ie as a reliable, well supported host on an IE netblock - have dealt with them as both customer and supplier a number of times

Is there a particular reason you want to keep the online website creation software on a separate machine to the hosting ?

Not saying its a bad idea, and it's been a long while since I've used sitebuilder (we dropped it some time ago but still have sitestudio on our HSphere clusters and thats a parallels product now) but ISTR something about the sites built by it not working "outside" of the builder application

That wouldn't be hard Rob, Parallels don't care much about direct clients they don't even want us as a partner because we didn't want to commit to the higher levels so they ignored the request

Parallels sales and support really are lousy, after out previous account manager left they now completely ignore us on either front unless we call them.
Companies normally don't turn down requests to buy things...
