Maybe if you gave a little more info on what you're looking to get given and conversely what you're looking to give in trade you may get some more serious replies

I'm not aware of any hosting providers who are expecting to still be in business throughout 2010 to not be looking to increase their clientbase

A tad dry Rob, as always, but I'm not holding my breath here either ;-)

Again I apologise for the delay in updating this post, as mentioned above, this hosting focused forum attracted far more attention in such a short length of time than I could have imagined.

The project and my need for host/s…

I have recently taken over SPAM URL REMOVED - THIS USER IS A PRAT this website was previously one of those 1000’s that promoted hosts in exchange for commissions. I however am NOT at all interested in commissions or affiliation with hosts in that manner.

I wish to provide a genuinely independent hosting reviews website. The site is based around a very simple reviews/merits system, that is 100% fair for every host listed.

I can not or will not have any editors choice, nor will I produce any reviews myself. There will be NO advertising on my site for hosts such as banners or textual links.

This site is already top of MSN (for what that’s worth) and upon completion rest assured it will rank highly on other engines also.

I understand as a complete novice to this forum, I have acquired absolutely no credibility (least of all with the vague post I started with) however I do have a few quality well placed websites that I can show to prove my genuine intentions and a small amount of credibility at least.

If you are interested please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to give you a fee account in return for genuine feedback. (no matter how dry that is)

Not quite sure how you expect to finance this with no advertising (or maybe it's non-hosting advertising?), but you need to clarify:

a) Are you wishing to purchase hosting for your venture? If so, what type (eg shared, dedicated server), what spec and what features are needed?

b) If not a), what are you wanting?

I doubt you'll stay top of MSN for long unless you hurry up and add some content again. From what I can see from the Bing cache, the site used to have information which has now been removed - as soon as the spiders come along and realise this, you'll drop your position like a lead balloon.

I am pleased to say, this site is now going very well, largely due to you guys, The home page is now over half full with 11 hosts listed, even the sceptical poster above (hint hint Othello…) is listed. Once this home page is full I will add a few extra features and spend a little more time on the design.

A little point worth a note: A few people have submitted Articles to me for publication on the site, Obviously this will be great news for you and me, however the minimum length of an Article or Tutorial must be 500 words. Each of the above are listed on a full page of their own, with a link to YOUR host page as the author and professional whom submitted the material.

Don't forget the site is still in pre-launch, so any links on the site are for you, not visiting customers.

To submit either of them, simply click on the Articles or Tutorials links on the home page

In the 10 days since URL REMOVED _ SPAMMER has been up 26 Hosts have joined. That means there are only 24 places left to fill the top 50 hosts hosting chart!

Although I am sure this will be done easily before the end of January, when the site is completed and uploaded as an automated free service for hosts. I would very much prefer it if hosts join sooner rather than later to ensure the PHP guy and I can focus on building the site based on the feedback provided by you.

More feedback = More features - Simple!

Additionally For those of you whom have joined without reading how it all works, here’s a brief rundown how to quickly increase your position now on the hosting chart.

Submit an Article = 1 merit
Submit a Tutorial = 1 merit
Receive a review from a customer = 1 merit

Currently HostPost Web Services is at the top of the charts with 4 merits. From 1 tutorial and 3 customer reviews.

In second place is RackSRV with 2 merits. Received by 2 customer reviews.

Finally another little boost is the fact Hosting-Reviews is now 1st on Yahoo and 2nd on MSN (Bing) not bad for the first 10 days since launch. (Yes I know the fact the domain had a site on in the past helped).
