UK-based Dedicated Server Needed

Hi,

We need a UK-based dedicated server. Main characteristics of it as follows:

- Unix,
- P4,
- 1 GB RAM,
- Normal Hard Disk space,
- High quality Bandwith,
- Very low ping
- 24/7 support

The reason we need this server is to run a script creates emails coupled with Qmail. The main performance criteria here is the scripts query rate and the time in which the emails created by the scripts quit the server. If the server location is close to Oxford that would be better.

Thus, we will first run the script on a test server you will supply to us, then evaluate its performance and if we think it is ok then we will order the server tested.

Our bugdet is GBP100-110 per month including everything.

So if you think you can supply our demand please send me a PM or reply me at serdincyilmaz@hotmail.com

Again no reseller account or no shared hosting. We are investing really serious amount to our project so we need a reliable partner in dedicated hosting.

Thank you for reading.
Serdinc

I suggest the following dedicated server

- P4 2.8Ghz
- 512MB DDR RAM
- 80GB HDD
- 100GB bandwidth/month
- 99.9% network SLA
- 9-5 phone support
- 24/7 email support

Hosted in Sovereign House on our fully redundant, Cisco routed network.

£49 setup, £49/month

We can tweak this configuration up or down depending on your requirement. Email or phone to discuss.

Chris

Hello Serdinc,

Based on the assumption that the mail you are sending is going out to the general public:

Provided the mail you are sending has been explicitly opted into by the recipients (and not operated on purchased lists of opt-ins for other mailing lists) and has a very clear and WORKING unsubscribe facility, we would be pleased to offer you one of our P4 Budget Plus units with a ram upgrade.

* Debian/GNU Linux
* P4 2.4 GHz
* 512MB RAM + 512MB Upgrade
* 40GB Hard Disk
* 100mbps Ethernet Port
* 200GB per month transfer allowance (upgradeable)
* 8x7 EMail support, 24x7 Emergency support by phone (host/network down)

£95 Setup, £80 per month (both prices inclusive of VAT).

Ping/Traceroute to 213.230.209.11

Fully owned network and server hardware, Cisco & Extreme Networks based infrastructure.

Excellent european connectivity and latency through our carefully selected transits.

We would be pleased to offer you a trial based on *cleared* payment in advance for setup and one month's rental as a deposit which will be returned to you if you choose to cancel provided the service has not been abused.

Thank you for the offers.

I think it is better to clear a few things. We are going to use the server to send pgp-signed emails coupled with Qmail to Nominet's automaton to register .co.uk domains. We are not dealing with any kind of spam or opt-in or opt-out or whatever emails. We are going to use it for a legitimate purpose. However, we do not want any kind of spam measure to stop us when we need to send a few, say 5 or so emails in a very very short intervals like 10 ms.

We are now with a dedicated server who gave us alot of headache since our application was running good but now stopped and giving errors. That is why we first want to run the script.

I understand it is alittle hard to give a full test server. Then I want a full refund in case the script does not work properly.

I am increaing my budget to GBP130.

Now please offer us a server who has the

- lowest latency
- highest and quality bandwith in the UK
- And let us test the script we have,

When I say above things I am really serious.
Please reply me with PM after this.

Thanks
Serdinc

As I said we have a script running in shell who send emails to Nominet, whose servers are located in Oxford. Is this helpful enough?

Hi Serdinc

There is no need to increase your budget to achieve high performance! See my offer above for a 2.8GHz P4 server at £49/month! We would also be happy to offer you a full refund after the first month if you were not happy with any part of the service offered, provided the server has not been abused.

Email to the nominet.org.uk domain goes via mx3 and mx4.nominet.org.uk. These servers do not ping directly, but I have included some route traces below. You can check these for yourself by using the traceroute tool at http://netrino.co.uk/tools. We see Nominet through a peer at XPE so there are is only one AS jump between the networks which gives excellent latency.

Quote:
traceroute to mx4.nominet.org.uk (213.248.199.24), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets
1 rb-sov-edge.netrino.co.uk (84.234.19.2) 0.379 ms 0.283 ms 0.329 ms
2 fe1-2-nom-col1.nominet.org.uk (217.79.160.112) 0.915 ms 0.820 ms 1.196 ms

4 host-213-248-206-1.nominet.org.uk (213.248.206.1) 3.907 ms 3.914 ms 4.061 ms

Ok,

I really thank for all emails and pms. Now here is how to determine which server I am going to sign with;

Please PM me the logs of (no email or no message just PM),

1. Traceroute to dac.nic.uk
2. Traceroute to mx3.nominet.org.uk
3. Traceroute to mx4.nominet.org.uk

Please PM these to me and the final price for your server.

Thanks!
