    Superior Uptime Webshoting Required!

    Hi,

I'm depserately looking for the following:

    - Superior uptime with well maintained servers
    - Must have cPanel access
    - Excellent e-mail support or messenger
    - Usual server-side features in cPanel such as PHP/MySQL/PHPMyAdmin/FTP etc...
    - At least 1GB of webspace - more would be better
    - At least 5GB of bandwidth - more would be better
    - Budget: 5/$10 per month or stretch slightly

I've had numerous problems with my previous host, intermittent downtime (very frustrating - I'd rather it just stay down rather than working when it feels like it)

Top priority = fast and reliable, 100% up-time and a support team which actually responds to e-mail, forum support would be ideal too - I'm looking for quality and a reputable company!

So if there are any links to good UK-based hosts, please let me know. I've had quite a lot of experience with bad hosting.

If you want top support top uptime and top hosting then pay top prices for your hosting.

We dont do cPanel I'm afraid.

So for somthing along the lines of 500MB-1GB of webspace and about 5GB of bandwidth and for approximately £5 per month, I cannot expect anything near 100% up-time or someone who can respond to a few support emails? :emote_grn What am I looking to pay for such specification?

    Hi,

I'm not saying you cant get that, hell, I offer just that on a non cPanel package, I was intimatng more that if Uptime and support is THAT crucial for your business then maybe a cheap shared hosting package isn't where you should be looking.

If you simply want a reliable host but not mission critical, then £60 a year isnt the bottom end of the market.

Dont forget, for 24/7 support, you're looking at 5-6 members of staff, that's £100-200k per year just for the support.. that's over 3333 £60 packages, just to cover the staff, let alone the office, the bandwidth, the servers, the datacentre space, the taxes, the insurance, the profit etc

    GL with the search.

OK I'm going to stop cross posting here and at WHT. Will stick to here for now. KisuKe is my username from WHT. Noticed you're also posting there.

I guess I should've made it slightly clearer. This is just a personal web page, so nothing criticial. Very personal.:emote_coo Shared hosting is absolutely fine.

By support, I mean - I expect some sort of reply to my support e-mails, whether it's 1 day or 2 day... at least I know it's being read and NOT ignored.

I'm just more wary of hosts nowadays as I've had a lot of bad experience with others. A previous host never maintained their servers and I was never able to access CPanel/PHPMyAdmin/FTP because their server hard disks breached the capacity... =/

I'm after quality up-time. But won't stress if it's down now and again but by this I don't mean down for several hours and many times during the month.

Take a look at our plans www.mkhosting.co.uk/webhosting.php

We have good uptime and always respond to support emails the same day.

What administrative panel do you guys use? Ensim? Just checked out your website, I gather that I should be looking at your VDS plans. It says no power tools supported for the first plan, but I assume I am allowed to install my own PHP scripts and utilities on your servers? And are we committed to a years contract with register1?

[inx]Olly - do you offer shared hosting?

However, you'll find on here some half decent ones.

As long as you can expect a little bit of downtime, and not instant responses to support requests, you may well find what you are looking for here.
If any host gives an instant response, its usually a basic one, and not very helpful.

Indeed Ensim, you're free to install them on the VDS Std, they just come as Quick Installs on the Pro. All accounts are for 1 year (but we do have an offer on, buy for 2 years, get the third year free, reducing the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to just 33 a yr for the VDS Std, 66 a yr for the VDS Pro, and the Pro comes with a Free Domain / Renewal...

    check out
