How does asking someone which site they host with a provider helps prove this is spam?

You never know this might be a legit user posting a review .

If they can't provide a site they host with them then its obviously spam, if they do host a site with them then it _may_ not be

If this is spam it's obviously the provider posting a review about their own services, which means they have any number of sites to pick from across their servers - their own or customers. If this isn't spam and they tell you a website address. How do you differentiate?

His username is chris, presumably we'd expect the domain to be registered to a "chris" and not the company in question, or mary, or john.

It's not a definitive way to decide, but it helps..
