Rob,
Website itself looks good - I've always been a fan of clear, simple design.
One thing I would suggest though, and perhaps something worth heeding if you don't want to be torn to shreds by people on various forums, is to avoid trying to pass off someone elses network as your own. In this case, your server is hosted on theplanet's network, so statements like:
Quote:
|
Our network architecture utilizes the Enterprise routing and switching engines from Juniper and Cisco. We utilize Juniper M20 routers as border routers, Cisco 6500 series switches in our distribution layer and Cisco 6500 switches in our aggregation layers, and Cisco 3500 and 2900 series switches at the customer layer. Our network is fully meshed and redundant with 9 backbone providers.
|
Aren't quite true, it isnt *your* network. A better policy is being clear about who you host with since people are much more likely to recognise that name and know that the network is good quality.
Good luck though!
Kris

I do apologise, we've not had chance to upgrade our terms since we moved off
4D Hostings network. The terms have now been updated accordingly.

NitroHosting,
Do the terms read better now? It was a rushed job so I just copied what the network
provider sent me. I've updated them so its clear its not our network, but a network
provided for us.

Hi Rob,
Obviously it isn't my site and yours to say as you wish on but if I was to be picky, you are still talking about *your* aggregation and distribution layers. Why not just say it's ThePlanet's network? If you chose to host there you must think its good, so why shouldn't other people? ;-)
Pictures of ThePlanet are certainly more appealing than servermatrix.... ;-)

NitroHosting: Has been ammended, I just hadn't noticed in my rush change. Thanks alot!
Jonny_B: Yes, we moved from 4D to The Planet because we had connectivity issues with 4D's network. I've been told its not 4D's problem but the links between me and 4D. Had complains from a few of my customers about poor connections, so irrelavant to reasons it was time to move.

Since the move from 4D to The Planet ive been very impressed. Downloaded from a family members 3Mbps NTL line at 364KB/s from my website & from my Pipex ADSL 1Mbps at 119KB/s. Already had two emails from clients who are pleased with the new system. We will be signing many of our sister companies clients in the coming months hopefully (fingers crossed!)

Can't comment Jonny... i can only go with my own experiances. I presume your talking about The Planet Datacentre in USA?
They have two datacentres:
DLLSTX2, Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, TX & DLLSTX4, Downtown, Dallas, TX
which one where you in?? We are using servers in DLLSTX2 an im very impressed with speed.
