You mean like how they have been banned for repeatedly breaking the rules?

    Well I didn't know that!

Also why the hell did this thread appear back in the new posts if it's 3 days old? I'm blaming Neil!

I'm not entirely sure why the normal "banned" banner isn't displaying next to the username, but usernames for banned accounts appear in italics.

A canonical url is an url which has been approved by a canon (or religious leader of higher rank).

Stop spamming your nonsense. That's not even close to being right.

The word "canonical" originates from the 14th century battlefield. When canons were first introduced, the only other projectile weapons at the time were arrows and spears - both of which could be reloaded and re-aimed immediately with little effort, unlike a canon which took a long time to set up and aim. This often led to them missing moving targets, and this perceived weakness led to much mockery from other troops, and frustration amongst artillery crews.

However, arrows and spears could be deflected at their destination with relative ease, through the use of shields - but once a canonball was in the air, there was little that could be done to defend against it. Once the artillery crews had gone through the laborous process of loading, aiming and firing the canon, when they scored a good hit and saw their enemy laid to waste, they would release their frustration and express their jubilation with a cry of "canonical!" - and thus the term was born. Over the years it came to describe an act which although may be laborious, is highly effective in achieving ones goals.

This leads us to today's usage on the internet, where "canonical" refers to URLs which contain useful and helpful information, without inaccuracies or incompetence. That is why google favours canonical urls, and why sites like webhostchat have a lot of canonical urls, whereas AdvanceSolution's website has virtually none.

Canonical URL means more than one URL redirect on the same website or different different websites
for example: you have website abc.com, and you type on search engines url box abc.com and your website is open with the same name abc.com but when you type www.abc.com in URL then it opened with www.abc.com so here the same website opened with two different domains and Google consider it as different different Websites. You can resolve this by using 301 redirection.
