RAID cards for dell PE860s
Hi,

Just wondering which raid card can be recommended, been looking at the 3ware 9650SE, from what i can tell its using a pci express format

Yep, we generally use the SAS5i/R they offer with no problems....

they do but problem with onboard raid controllers with dell servers is that they dont seem to like linux based oses which is a right pain,

Ricky, did you mean that card will work with the server?

Gaz, they're not onboard controllers, they're expansion board controllers, and I've not had an issue yet with any modern *nix OS.
