    Raid Cards

We're currently using the 3ware 9650-2LP raid cards. They're very good, however we've had a lot of failed ones lately. On top of that they're not compatible with server 2008. Looking at going for LSI but need to find out that is sub £100, do they do any any alternatives, any you can suggest?

Adaptec Unified Serial, or Areca. As for the 3ware - why not just slipstream the driver in to your ISO?

Adaptec 3805 for win2k8 - although there's a known bug with the firmware at present - it "forgets" the raid array after a hard power down (not after a reboot though), fixed by going in and detecting/saving it again, but does meand you must have permanent KVMoIP on the box

Currently testing out the 2k8 dos based vps tools, much better than all that gui junk

Is there the same issue with the 4 port version?

As only issue we had was we had to use a specific beta driver for the OS to work. Multiple reboots later and its all good.

just would not install create partitions etc. sadly with the amount of servers we have we haven't got the time to be constantly fiddling around.

Never been a big fan of LSI, we used to use quite a few SCSI cards from them back in the day and that's the only time we've ever had cards fail and/or corrupt arrays. *touches wood*
