you're *still* looking ! wow !

pcs - never heard of them, looks like the run-of-the-mill poundhost dedi customer, kind of confirmed by
We currently operate from servers in the Poundhost datacenter also known as 'BlueSquare House', Our network includes bandwidth from leading carries including:
dont get me started on the "our network" cr@p ...

voo - similarly hosted with poundhost, established longer, regluars to various forus and are honest on their network details
VooServers operates all of it's services from the Blue Square Data facility in Maidenhead just off the M4. We are located on a full BGP4 network operated by Poundhost

If you're looking for hosting on the PH network @ BSq Voo would be a clear winner of the two for me.

Not still ... i'm always looking for a new & backup host ... i tend to spread my clients around as to not risk all eggs in one basket!

Currently, i'm thinking of moving all my accounts to the UK ... as recently i've encouterd a back-up timing issue (As in the US they do that during my rush hour).

Just get one decent provider and all your problems are solved. .

It will probably cost less long term as your not faffing around with different suppliers.

Amen to that..

It's a said state of affairs with the 'sector' when prospective clients feel the need to spread their business around as though they accept failure as an inevitability

Reminds me of a comment I read on the Dreamhost blog the other day.

"I can’t believe… every webhosting sucks."

I can't comment on the quality of their hosting. But, given that I frequently talk with Matt from VooServers, he knows his stuff and I've not heard any complaints. Matt always seems to be about, so I guess his support will be good too. I can't comment on the other company as I've never heard of them, used their services or spoken to them.

Then you're selecting based on the wrong criteria

you should select a host based on reliability due to you want to know can they keep your site hosted whereas new ones have a lower probability of sticking around.

Some would also say you get what you pay for, whereas some people buy hosting because its cheap and you deffinately should not purchase hosting from an overseller, some people do not care about this however think to yourself can this host really offer this much, in terms of technology?

The last sentance is important because they have to accomodate multiple people on the server in order for the server to pay for itself, so thinking in the longhaul is crucial.

Some would also say you get what you pay for, some hosts offer the world whereas the resources will not allow it unless they oversell which is never good however some people do not understand this and just jump into purchasing it.

Support is also important however one can say if clients are not asking for support either your support is terrible or your service is excerlant and they do not require it.

I was miss understood -

NEW as in a new provider for me, not as new-in-the-buisness.

Also, i'm not into the UNLIMITED stuff but for the more solid plan (I tend to get the 5G space\30G band\cPanel\Great support ext. deals) and just spread them around. I also avoid the big providers for the support reason (Lack on intemacy ... has a one-time night-mare expirance in the early stages).

I move around, since i found out that providers tend to loose QoS from time-to-time (For what ever reason ... i don't really care) and hurt my buissness. I've been (and still am) with really good providers but after a while always found something to be wrong (A sudden server-carsh for 48 hrs .... A new daily back-up that stalls the service ... ext.).

Bottom line ... my budget is tight, as hosting is only a small part of my IT service, and i can't afford the HEAVY plans ... But, i'm doing OK and can't complain.

A Q's -

What to prefer: A packed feature list (Which seems to only grow)\lower prices\Great service\Low space OR A basic feature list\Big Space\Great support\An unlimited feature i realy need (Not Band or Space)?

Hi,

To clear a few questions up, we are not newcomers to the hosting industry. PCSmart24 is primarily a mobile pc repair business in the UK, Web hosting is a service we run on the side. We are debt-free registered UK company and will not be going anywhere soon.

Thanks.
