Smile Best hosting for vbulletin

I have a website hosted by EliteUKserve.net and want to set up a vbulletin forum, but apparently the hosting package is windows, and I was told I needed a Linux platform to run vbulletin as Elite's windows server does not support php. This is a bit of a learning curve for me, so apologies for silly questions, but is it feasible to have a separate Linux site for the vbulletin forum only, with a link to it from my main site, or could that cause problems? Also, should I stick with Elite for the additional linux package or look elsewhere (and if so, which are the best hosts for this?) I have no idea how busy the forum will get initially, but I'd like the ability to upgrade if it outgrows the server's capability.

Hope you can help a real newbie to all this..

Yes, It's possible to host the forums elsewhere if you don't mind the cost / don't want the inconvenience of moving / need to retain your windows hosting for some technology (ie ASP / MSSQL)

If you post in the requests for products and services section I'm sure you'll get lots of people (including myself) reply with offers.

As Jamie says, perfectly feasible, we have a number of customers do this, usually running their forums on something like forums.theirdomainname.com
