The main criteria I have are PHP5, MySQL5, 1GB+ diskspace, unlimited email accounts and a good spam filter (they offer Spam Assassin).
If anyone has good or bad reports I'd be grateful to hear them.

i have only joined this form because i myself want to hear the good and bad about these hosting companies
webhosting.uk.com or eukhost or what ever other alias they have. I have been with them now for 4 months. and the technical problems that I am having are totally beyond control.

NickG: I realised that you were not happy with the service & had faced downtimes... I myself setup the SSL as wel.
NickG: I will see if we can offer you the VPS at a discount.
NickG: The pro bay. co .uk site will start working in the next hour .... the A records need to propagate
NickG: Is there anything else that I can help you with - apart from this?
nick: well i can say that running a business with webhosting.uk.com euhost is not what i can depend on
NickG: Its not difficult for me to understand why you feel so. You are fully entitled to that view. But we have corrected whatever issues came up....

now most would argue that hey these guys have live help and all that. Well what good does live chat do for you when you are always on it because they are mucking everything up? And when they do muck it up they just say sorry and hope thats the end of it until the next problem comes along
Still not conviced?
here is what happened on the 19th of november
an email was sent out from them stating that i would need to change the ip address of my primary domain because they were migrating my account to another server.
i actually forgot to do this in the time frame instructed - i logged on and my account was gone. i quickly changed the ip's as instructed and still after 4 hours no change. i hit them up on live chat
of course you can read the support ticket here:

Dear Nick Angeli,
Currently your cPanel Hosting account is hosted on 87.117.236.2xx and this cPanel server had some problems in last 2 weeks due to high load. We have tried everything possible to sort this problems but there has been no success in doing so as there's no such particular website which has resulted in overloading of server so our Senior system admins have decided to migrate this server to a brand new high specification Q6600 Server. We have expertise in migration of cpanel servers using Rsync scripts and there wont be any downtime in migration process neither you will need to change anything from your end. IP address of server will change as we need to avoid any sort of downtime due to this migration.
Accounts will be migrated on 19th of November 2007 at 1 AM. Your website will start resolving from new server before Monday Morning. If you are using our nameservers then you wont need to make any changes and your domains will resolve from our new servers automatically. If you have setup private nameservers for any of your domains then you will need to change their IP address once migration process is completed.
Nameserver Information :-
ns11.redbackinternet.co.uk - 217.112.82.20 ns12.redbackinternet.co.uk - 92.48.66.2
Please donot make any changes as of now. You wont need to make any backup of your data as we will take every possible precaution to avoid any sort of problem and your databases will start working from the new server immediately once the DNS IPs are switched to the new server from our end.

the result was i followed the instructions and as a result my site was down until i contacted support and they informed me that this account was not set to be moved.
every single customer called me to complain
i have lost 3 clients
as you can imagine this simply is no good for business.
My 2 options are to
1. stay with webhosting uk
2. to leave and start another account elsewhere
I am asking to be upgraded to 2 additional ips and ssl certs. I am asking for this because 1 day outage is bad but not the first time we have had an outtage with you. if you look thru our trouble tickets you will find "2" other occurances and these were even more than a days business lost.
pleaes let me know your thougts an position on the above
As you can see, they really do not demonstrate ANY quality control. now if you are one guy with a couple websites they you can roll with the punches, but if your sites need to be up and running because its your business and others are depending on that they stay clear of the reseller hosting packages from webhosting.uk.com i would rate them right up there with the tax man - no one wants to deal with the tax man!
my experience and 2 cents
