Help Tracking Down a Web Host Crook

Hi everybody,

I'm new here (as you can see

), and was recommended to join by a fellow member on another forum.

I was wondering if anyone has had contact with or could help me track down a certain person (well, more like a company) who I have made a court claim against but still won't pay up.

I'm about to commence a bailiff's warrant but I want to make sure the address I gave the courts is actually where the guy lives. I don't want the bailiffs knocking on the door only to find that some poor old lady lives there.

Registered company director: Mr Ryan Curtis (born 1986)
Known affiliates (possibly aliases): Mr Craig Berry, Mr Paul Berry

Name of company: Port9 Ltd. (still active)
Company aliases: UKEasily.co.uk, Hostingdepartment.net

Company's registered address:

11 MURRAY STREET, CAMDEN
LONDON

(Court claim serve notice was initially sent to this address, was returned unserved)

Ryan Curtis' last known address:
PORT9 Ltd
PORT9 House One
22 Woodside ST
Stalybridge, UK
SK15 3SB
(Court claim service resent to this address, judgement won by default (i.e. Serve notice was not returned and no response for 30 days)

Known phone contact: 01457 835 952 (line still active but no response)

I have determined using samknows.com that the above phone number is definitely at 22 Woodside St, or if not, extremely nearby.

I found another address:

Office 29
Greenheys Business Centre
Pencroft Way
Manchester
M15 6JJ

After some searching I found that the only company that existed at that address was Able2fix Limited, which has been dissolved.

Their domain is: www.able2fix.com (still active)

I'm trying to find out the contact details of this domain, I suspect it was registered by the father of Mr Ryan Curtis.

So yeah if anyone knows the the whereabouts of anyone associated with Port9 Ltd a.k.a. UKEasily.co.uk a.k.a HostingDepartment.net, could you please let me know

I thought they basically went t!tsup.com 6 months ago when they got turned off by their transit supplier ...

services paid for upfront, and claims for services I paid for which I didn't receive, including addons such as dedicated IP for several months etc.

but less than £200? As much as such things are about the principle of the thing (and as it happens today I was helping a friend who took someone to court, and won) there are times when you need to realise that you are throwing good money to bad

Not beyond those being mentioned already, and the 1st link on Google search on "director paul berry" comes up with *** Belfast - my browser closed at that point ...

If it was on a CC, see if you can do a chargeback.
I know Natwest protect my Servicecard aswell due to account type.

I see you have the currently correct details for this Domain Name
The Nominet records is slightly incorrect, showing as an individual instead of a company which makes me wonder about the authenticity of the name "Port9 Limited"
Serve the documents to both addresses anyway :
Greenheys Data Centre
Pencroft Way
M15 6JJ

Their Registered Office is still showing as :
11 Murray Street
However, this could be incorrect and requiring to be updated at Companies House

It might be worth getting a full copy of the documents from Companies House, as this will have the name and addresses of the Directors, although they are only up to December 2007, cost you £2 for both sets

Port 9/UK Easily were almost certainly the same company - their 'data centre' (a shared room in the Greenheys Business centre without any additional cooling) had the name 'Port 9 t/a UK Easily' above the door IIRC. I only spoke to the guy briefly, but he introduced himself as Craig - whether that's his real name or not I don't know.

I'd advise against sending it just to 'Greenheys Data Centre', as both Melbourne and UK Grid have properly cooled and managed space in there where your summons is likely to end up.

Hi,

I can echo what Sam says.

I was in Greenheys only a few weeks ago (we have a quarter rack there with the aforementioned UK Grid) and the office which he referred to is still labelled Port 9 t/a UK Easily above the door.

Although, it might have been because it was a Saturday when I went in to Greenheys, but the office looked rather deserted... and rather empty.

If you are going to send a summons, I would suggest contacting enquiries@mspl.co.uk first (mspl.co.uk = Manchester Science Parks Ltd) and ask if Port 9 t/a UK Easily are still a tenant and/or left a forwarding address.
