Even with 2.5Mbit/s up that's only really going to be 300KB/s upload speed - if you're lucky. Just had a customer send us several TB on external drives to load of for them - that'd take quite some time at 300KB/s

A second DSL Line ? Does this not depend on the volume of data? This could be gigs or tens of - a ADSL line just isn't going to cut the mustard.

what is your budget? what about a cheap 1u server with hot swap drives that you colo somewhere, then mail them HDs to swap into the server

Constant 2.5mbits is 750-800gigabytes in a month, the OP mentioned a few gigabytes so just keeping the options out there

not a clue, don't have need for it here but Karl mentioned above a 2.5 upstream so i was using his number. if the number he mentioned was fabricated i hold my hands up

We do with short enough lines, so does Be.

In fact nothing to stop you bonding them either if you wish.

And if you don't happen to live "in" the local exchange?

If you bonded 120 ADSL lines he could tansfer really quick however the OP has already said that ADSL isn't a plan so i doubt 2x ADSL will make much difference.

Yeah, I did say short lines. You can do 2.5Mb/s upstream on a 1.1km line so long as you sacrifice the downstream, and make it effectively synchronous..
