What are your exact requirements? what do you want to do with your site? do you have any specific requirements with regards to location etc?

Cheers,

Hi Jonny_b,

Thanks for your reply.

I want to clarify a bit what I want. I want to start e-shop for mobile phones. For that I need a hosting provider, which will install all this for me. Yesterday I phoned to Pchighway.com support. They say, that to install my e-shop I will need to do not more than 3 clicks. And plus they will give me free domain. It’s all sounds good to me.
Also yesterday I posted on some other forums. I received a lot of comments from people. They all say that http://www.pchighway.com hosting is quite good choice for my e-commerce application.

Could you please help me in choosing hosting company. I want to be shure 100% before i buy something.

Thanks.

It would probably help to separate things out into distinct requirements:

1. You need a shopping cart program to be able to sell your phones.

2. You need a web hosting package to host your shopping cart, and the other parts of your website.

3. You may well need a designer/developer to set up your shopping cart and create your website, if you don't have experience of this yourself.

4. You need a way of collecting payment from customers securely and reliably.

A quick check of pchighway's website indicates they use the CPanel control panel (with their own skin by the looks of it). CPanel includes various shopping carts. One which is optional is OSCommerce and this is very well regarded. Would probably do what you need.

Most web hosts can offer Linux or FreeBSD hosting that is suitable for a shopping cart like OSCommerce.

I'd check to see if pchighway is offering to design and create your website and shopping cart for you.

Have you thought about payment? I'm assuming you are trading in Switzerland and so need to accept payment in Swiss Francs. There are lots of companies who will look after securely collecting credit card payment -- WorldPay.com is one, but I don't think they operate in Switzerland. www.saferpay.com is one I found that is Swiss.

Hope that helps!

Yes, i thought about payment. I think for the moment i will use just paypal...

So, thanks a lot for your comment. For the moment I think I better stop with Pchighway.

After I will share my experience with them

Thanks again.

Hi All,

Thanks to everyone who paid attention to my problem.

During a long-long discussion in many different forums I made decision about hosting company. I choose for this http://www.pchighway.com.

So, now I want to share my experience with them.

I bought hosting from them using PayPal. I choose “Starter” Plan for 71$ per year. Whole procedure took about 5-10 minutes. After that they sent me my password, login and all other information. I also asked for free domain name. So here is my site, but it’s just a template now. http://mobile.pchighway.com.

I logged in to my control center straight away. It’s really cool. I can create E-Mail address or with a few clicks. So what I did : ).
After creation E-Mail I found “osCommerce” and “Agora Shopping cart”. So I choose osCommerce, because I heard a lot about it. So i went to CGI Center –> osCommerce. I just entered path in a box – and my eshop began working!!! I love it now!! . But it was working in the beginning from http://mobile.pchighway.com/eshop, but I just submitted in support – and during about 15 minutes they fixed something and it available as http://mobile.pchighway.com. After I asked them about changing this template for something better (I want to put my phone Sony Ericsson on first page as a logo) and they said it’s not a problem, they will manage if necessary.

Now I’m going to put some data in it to begin selling. So, I think it was a good choice. For the moment everything fast and stable.

So, I wish to everyone find his best hosting company.

Thanks to owners of forums, you really help people.

Thanks to everyone who read this topic.

Here is my new E-mail webman@mobile.pchighway.com if someone wants to get some more information about my shop, or about Pchighway.
