    Ah well that's good.

Will certainly make use of it while it's around.

With Freeview HD coming, bbc iplayer, sky etc I can only see a small market for it or for those times your without all the above..

Must cost a fair bit to run and I can't see clips before and after shows making a lot of money.

The channels aren't ones I watch that have "can't miss programs".

Again don't mean to be criticising it as it does look slick and that it certainly could be useful in certain situations.

Obviously the original incarnation had a lot more benefits to it as opposed to this one. (Although obviously more legal issues).

The girlfriend was quite enjoying watching the xfactor on iPhone.tvcatchup.com until it all went bang (my fault of course!)
I guess those new servers weren't enough Chris
Edit: or just reboot the iPhone... god I hate computers sometimes!

Judging by the traffic they're producing, I suspect it's a local problem rather congestion this end. But, I don't have visibility of the servers themselves, so could be wrong.

A laptop on Wi-Fi was able to use the full version fine, so I don't think it was an ISP issue. I rebooted the iPhone and it seemed to clear up, but she'd finished cooking by then so I let her out of the kitchen to watch it on a normal TV

Dragging up this thread, has anyone tried alternatives to this? i.e, a slingbox?

I'm very tempted in getting a slingbox pro (and the iphone app).

I've tried eyetv (as i use mac), and whilst it used to be good, the latest updates cause the program to freeze for no apparent reason and the iphone app is just so slow.

They look 'ok', but the player is a bit clunky IMHO. Besides, unless you want Sky channels, there's very little point!

    SlingBox Pro is very good.

I recently was in Hospital for a week, and with 3G on the laptop it stopped me going out my mind with bordem.

On the iphone it works well, but will not allow it over 3G only wifi, but works well over wifi.

One of the chaps here has a slingbox connected to sky... his sister who lives in China watches Sky on it (gets through the great firewall just fine) and it works a treat i'm told.

You only need a VPN service and you can watch tvcatchup anywhere too

Ummm. I have a vps in which I proxy too, unfortunately this didn't work. . I would have thought this would be similar to a vpn in the respect that my IP would be seen as a UK IP address.

You've got to be seen as coming from a peer of Netrino IIRC otherwise you just get a message saying that your ISP isn't compatible.
