    TV on iPhone

Just in case there is anybody who's not already read the media hype, our client TVCatchup has launched a beta of their iPhone service.

Just go to iphone.tvcatchup.com in Safari on your iPhone or iPod Touch and you can watch live Freeview on the device, free. What's more, it works over 3G aswell as WiFi so you can use it when you are out and about.

There are 8 channels on there right now, but I believe more servers are being deployed at the moment to take this to 50, the same as the website.

    Enjoy!

    Chris

Does that mean you need a TV Licence for your office, car, shed, tent, favourite coffee shop... if you watch TV on your iPhone?

IIRC, TV License wise, if you have a home TV license, then you are also permitted to watch live television on portable (battery) powered devices.

If you plug the device in at another location (do they class this when you plug your phone in to charge I wonder) then those premises should have a TV license.

Haven't yet tried it myself, although my colleague said "It's great, I can sit on the can and watch TV"...

Not quite sure that was a great selling point for me!

    Nice!

Saved it to my phone. I noticed sky released an app for Live sky, 3 months free to O2 customers (first 150,000) then 6 month. Only got SkySports & News at the mo.

Would have been if it hadn't of exploded at the end of the X-Factor last night. I got it in the neck from the girlfriend for that! (it was obviously my fault as it was my idea )
