When we do any new sites for clients signing up for Google Webmaster Tools seems to get the site indexed quite quickly, might help if you have not already.
Have you submitted your site to Google ect to be indexed?
You just need a link from a popular forum as they will likely be scanned regually.
Any new sites i make i post on 2 forums and they are always indexed within 48 hours. (clearly read the forum rules hah).

Just goes to show most SEO ideas are bullsh..
One way links are pointless, especially if they're from sites not index, low-ranked, or plain ignored by the search-engines - links from "junk" sites actually hurt not help
Social bookmarking helps when lots of people do it, but the digg or blog or whatever has to be of some relevance and not just link-spam.
If it a new domain, google as a registry will know about it, so it'll be on the list to come and visit eventually, if its a reworking of an old domain, you could just submit it.
What's far more important is the content - search engines dont have wallets ...

Creat a google xml sitemap (xml-sitemaps.com) and then create an account with Google analytics www . google.com/analytics/ , submit your xml sitemap to them, validate it and it should get indexed no problem.
You just need to get some back links to it and Google will find it.
Some blogs or forums are crawled more frequently than others, so might get you listed quicker, but it does take time and so long as you have links to it then Google will find it.
Ranking well is another matter, though!
I could have sworn that post wasn't there a few days ago!
As the first 2 posters are 1, I think we can say that's a shoddy bit of spam.
