Our Datacenter:

The physical environment necessary to keep the servers up and running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are using a data center located on the West Coast of the USA. The building is a class A, state of the art facility datacenter which is earthquake proof.

- Redundant High Bandwidth Connectivity
The West Coast Data Center is owned by Hostcentric, located at Fremont, CA. The network capacity exceeds 2.5 Gigs of Internet connectivity via DS3, OC3, OC12, and Gigabit Ethernet connections to a wide variety of peer points and several transit providers. The circuits are terminated in our data center on carrier class, Cisco Systems 12000 routers.

- Conditioned power
Power quality in the datacenter is ensured by multiple independent Liebert UPS systems. Should the utility power fail, the mission critical electrical loads at the datacenter are provided by the Liebert UPS systems, which are configured with automatic static bypass and manually operated full-maintenance bypass circuits. Each UPS module has its own DC battery bank with sufficient capacity to sustain its critical bus for periods exceeding 20 minutes without additional power supply from utility or generator sources.

- Standby generator: The electrical utility service (PG&E) is backed up via a stand-by diesel power generator activated by an Onan automatic transfer switch. The generator is a 750 KW Cummins-Onan, with sufficient on-site fuel to run continuously for over 24 hours.

- Network Security
Our network is a fully switched network. Traffic destined for a website hosted on a server is sent only through switching equipment necessary to deliver the information to that server. This minimizes the risk of someone sniffing or capturing traffic being sent across the network.

Our data center, was built from the ground up and is equipped with various high capacity connections to multiple carriers to ensure uptime and speed consistency and redundancy.

- Regulated Climate Control
The data center's HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) system is N+1 redundant. With full particle filtering and humidity control, the environment is maintained at a cool 68° F to ensure a comfortable environment for our servers.

- The Network
In our Datacenter location we have established extensive public and private peering relationships. Peer points currently include the Pacific Bell NAP and Palo Alto Internet Exchange. BGP4 is used for optimal route selection and automatic fail over.

Network bandwidth is carefully monitored to ensure that customer utilization does not exceed online capacity during peak Internet traffic times.

Our datacenter "Cisco Powered Network" relies on redundant Cisco 12000 series routers and 6500 series switches at its core, and can be made fully redundant all the way down to the customer server.
Dual core routers at the top layer connect to a layer-three, switched backbone. This switching fabric connects to a layer two distribution switch infrastructure that in turn connects to a bandwidth managing "Officer". The bandwidth manager controls traffic from multiple layer two switches mounted on the customer's rack that are connected to individual servers. For additional redundancy, customers may be dual homed by purchasing an additional Ethernet port and diverse cabling that terminates on a second switch.

To monitor packet traffic customers are provided with one bandwidth graph per Internet uplink connection.

- Uptime
Our network operation centers are staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days each week by skilled technicians. Industry-leading service level agreements highlight company guarantees like 100% network uptime.

- Server hardware
The servers we are using are Dual P4/Xeon at least 2.6 GHz with 1.5 or 2 GB memory, SCSI hard drives in RAID and backups. Each server is using a gigabit network card.

- Standby Servers - We keep spare servers on-line of all CPU configurations. If a server were to experience a hardware failure, we would turn a key, grab the handle on the drive, pull it out, and insert it into an identical standby CPU. We would then reboot the second machine and the server would be up and running again in a matter of minutes.

Welcome to The Hosting Solutions

Are you a UK company? I don't see an address/phone number at your website, just an email address, and your prices are in $. Your domain registration address is in Canada, so are your website prices Can$?

Your terms and conditions say DuoServers.com not The Hosting Solutions. DuoServers.com is registered to LiquidNet Ltd here in the UK.

So just who would a customer be signing up with? I think you need to be a bit more open about yourself/ves...

Hi, TDMWeb

That is true, all accounts are provided by LiquidNet Ltd.
The customers will be signing up with DuoServers, that what terms and conditions say.
We are reselling the web space for more affordable price.
The prices are in UK (GBP) as per forum rules.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask, please.

Being a reseller would explain your insane pricing then, as with that pricing you would go bust in no time with your own hardware.etc

If there is a better service for a better price tag why should the customer pay insane price for the same service?
We have a MONEY BACK GUARANTEE program, none of our customers have requested a money back yet. I think this is a best indicator of customer satisfaction.
Would you agree?

As you mention, they aren't your customers anyway, they are customers of LiquidNet, and you don't provide any contact information for your company or LiquidNet apart from one email address.

Every provider loses customers at some point, irregardless of customer satisfaction ... human nature for some *** to signup eventually.

I think if you're serious about hosting then reselling is a good first move ... but the prices you are charging aren't sustainable if you outgrow reselling (assuming they are now) so you should take another look at them.

Better price for a better service - yes,
but your packages are unsustainable.

Your clearly overselling space and possibly bandwidth, but even so, lets say that your webspace alone is a 1:1 contention....

Right you say that your Datacentre is host centric, so lets use their cheapest dedicated server in this example...
Diskspace - 80 GB

Your offering 400Meg min in this offer, so lets say that every one of your customers on this server, has that account.

That means in a best case scenario, if you filled your server *totally* full, you would have approx 80 customers on that box (im working this out in my head here, so this is *very* approx).

For simplicity's sake, lets round your pricing up to £3.00 pm for this package.
If the server was full to the bursting point, you would make £240pm
Your dedicated server charge would be £50pm
So thats £190 a month, from your entire customer base - and I havent touched bank charges/ gateway transactions, not to mention any setup fees.etc

£190 for 80 customers (which you would never fit onto a box) is absolutely terrible, that combined with the fact im sure there are a fair few resellers also on your box as well would also suggest to me that there are a fair few sites on that box (as most resellers will try to cram as many accounts as possible into their quota).

Also touching on your "GUARANTEE" - I think you will find most web hosts provide this, and as Cranky said, the fact no one has claimed it back yet is totally irrelevant and the fact that you registered "http://www.thehostingsolutions.net" less than a month ago, suggests to me that your a *very* young company and your customer base will most definately comprise of your local community/ friends and family who wouldnt take transfer out, as if they had an issue - they would take it up with you directly.

no HARD filling, thank you for advices, guys

Just because we are YOUNG company we would like to attract first customers with the lowest prices.

FYI: I am not asking you to buy it. AND I am not even trying to TRASH the competitors' threads/websites/domains - we will not play this game.

From the rules: "Participants from other web hosting companies may not trash their competitors' threads"

this isnt trashing compeditors - quite a few members of this forum have raised some interesting points.

Also if we are going to knit pick over forum rules - You have broken the forum Terms and conditions by posting this thread in the first place, as your last post was an advert - http://www.forum2.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=2591, under forum t&c, you must make at least 5 posts in non advertising forums before you may advertise again.

Also due to some of the points rasied in my last post (with regards to this thread breaking forum t&c which I didnt notice sooner) and the fact that everything I think that needs to have been said, has been said, im going to temporarily lock this thread before it does start "trashing", and going down into schoolyard antics.
