    .net code protection

    Hi Guys,

Have any of you experience with .net code protection. I've been looking at CodeVeil, which looks very good and can also create demo versions of the software and activation licenses etc.

Anybody used CodeVeil, or anything similar? Any recommendations?

    Cheers,
    Sean

    Hi Sean,

I'm currently using .NET Reactor for obfuscating and it can also do licensing including trials (although I haven't tried that part). It is pretty good and only $169 for a single developer...

Thanks very much for that Kevin,

Looks very promising - and that is an excellent price.

Have you tried decompiling anything you have done to see how good it is - even though the site does say "no tool is capable of decompiling .NET Reactor protected assemblies"

Going to give it a try later today I think.

    Cheers,
    Sean

    Sean,

Yeah, I tried it using the standard .NET decompiler and it reckoned it couldn't be decompiled. I also tried Reflector and as soon as you hit anything that has been obfuscated it throws an exception and crashes

    Thanks Kevin,

I downloaded the trial earlier, and protected some code with it and my decompiling attempts failed too It does seem very nice, and because of the nice price I'm about to buy it to try it without the nag screen on protected files.

    Thanks again for suggesting this.

    Cheers,
    Sean
