Do you know if there is any command or software available that can tell you what duplex a windows (XP) box is connected at? I know you can force the speed in the driver, but if it is setup to auto, is there any command or software that will tell if it is full or half duplex?
Cheers,
Sean

Thanks Ben - but that does not appear to show the current state of the interface, but rather sets the state. I needed to be able to tell the current state before changing anything.
Cheers,
Sean

I was hoping there would be a much simpler method, eg ethtool for windows - basically this would need to be run by end users as part of a diagnostic, partly due to slows downloads etc. I suppose I could make do with netstat -e to see if there are errors - the problem is I know all of the machines are set to AUTO, but I need to tell what the negotiation has settled on.
Cheers,
Sean

Why not just ask the switch you're connected to, what duplex it thinks it's running at?
